  ABOUT KCL

UPDATE:  March 1, 2024

With the incorporation of Keystone as a town, KCL is in the process of reviewing its purpose and mission.  At a Strategic Planning Meeting on March 1st, 2024, the KCL Board adopted the following changes.  A further review of the mission, activities and membership process will occur after the vacant Board positions are filled.

  1.  The Board decided to change the name of KCL to "Keystone Community League" to reflect its desire to be representative of all constituents of the Keystone community, including businesses and second homeowners.

  2. The Board decided to narrow its focus for now to the following three activities:
    • Host social functions at least once per year to bring community members together
    • Hold candidate forums for local, county and state elections to create an informed electorate of registered voters in Keystone
    • Act as an advocate for key issues in the Keystone community if and when the need arises

Anyone who is interested in joining the KCL Board should reach out to Dennis McWherter at dmcwher100@hotmail.com or 720-472-8775.  Dennis is serving as interim President until the Board vacancies are filled.

The Keystone Citizens League (KCL) is an organization made up of residents, condo and homeowners, businesses, and other interested individuals who take an active interest in our Keystone community.

The organization's primary objective is to maintain and improve the quality of life in the Keystone area through the following activities:

  • The KCL Board of Directors maintains frequent formal and informal contact with resort management, County Commissioners, County Road and Bridge personnel, CDOT, National Forest Service representatives and others in order to understand and influence projects and initiatives being considered and proposed.  Information these on these projects is then disseminated to members.
  • The Board of KCL wishes to work with others in the community in a constructive manner, supporting projects beneficial to the Keystone community.  The Board of KCL will oppose projects that may have a negative impact on the quality of life in the area.
  • The Board of KCL believes that all of the citizens of Keystone should be offered the opportunity to participate in improving the area. Therefore, KCL organizes volunteer community projects.
