MARIJUANA DISPENSARY IN KEYSTONE APPEAL DENIED

October 14, 2021

TO:  KCL Members

RE:  Marijuana Dispensary Appeal Denied

The appeal of the marijuana dispensary in Keystone was denied by the County Commissioners by a 2-1 vote this afternoon.  Commissioners Pogue and Blanchard opposed the appeal and Commissioner Lawrence supported granting the appeal.  There was strong community support for the decision.  Over 150 community emails were received by the Commissioners opposing the dispensary license.  Over 50 community members showed up for the appeal hearing.  Special KCL thanks goes out to the residents of Loveland Pass Village and Sonne PUD who have strongly opposed this dispensary  and spoke from the heart about their reasons to the Commissioners. One community member spoke in favor of the dispensary.  The KCL Board heard the voices of the community and strongly opposed approval of the Marijuana License.

UPDATE ON THE APPLICATION FOR A MARIJUANA DISPENSARY IN KEYSTONE

October 1, 2021

The Summit County Planning Department has denied the marijuana license for 57 Rasor Drive. However, the applicant has appealed the decision to the Board of County Commissioners.  The hearing will be held on October 12th at 1:30 pm in the Old County Court House in Breckenridge (208 Lincoln Ave.)

Community input is critical in the appeal process.  For your voice to be heard, you need to again write an email to the Board of County Commissioners voicing your opinion on the appeal.  The more individual communications they receive, the stronger the message.  Please send and email to:

         josh.blanchard@summitcountyco.gov

with a cc: to  sid.rivers@summitcountyco.gov

In addition, it is important for community members to attend the public hearing in person or via video link and voice your views.  Attendance will make a powerful statement to the Commissioners.  If you attend via video link, you must sign up in advance at:  www.summitcountyco.gov/agendacenter.  We will update you on the meeting as more is know.
